I only have one word to describe the situation : "Finally". I've been stuck on this battle for weeks.

This is a pretty complicated battle, for several reasons. The party is separated into two groups, which complicates things right off the bat. The party is at a heavy disadvantage positionally as well. The opposing party consists of a Holy Priest (uses sword skills + priest skills), two Monks, a Time Mage who uses and abuses Draw Out abilities, and two Geomancers.

The Holy Priest is the pillar of the enemy force, because he can inflict heavy damage with his sword skills, and can use Raise 2 a lot with his monstrous MP pool. He can also use Holy, and has Move-HP UP, making him hard to kill. He wields a Save The Queen (20 PA, always Protect), and there was no way I was going to beat this battle without stealing it.

The Time Mage is the second most dangerous member of the enemy team. She uses Draw Out with very high efficiency, and she also has MP Switch. The two Geomancers are not too dangerous, and do relatively low damage. However, their 100% hit rate makes phoenix downs difficult to use well, and the chance for nasty status on this map (petrify, stop) can make them lethal as well. The two Monks are strong, but are otherwise pretty generic in their offensive capabilities. Just go up close and punch. It should be noted that one of them has the tendency to cast Stop very often.

From the very beginning, my strategy involved having somebody steal the Holy Priest's sword, to not only get an awesome weapon, but also cut down his offensive capabilities tremendously (although he still can use Holy). It's after that part that it got complicated for me in my numerous attempts at this battle. I was never too sure as to what strategy to approach with. Defensively, it's very difficult. I can't focus on either physical or magical defense because this enemy group uses a mix of both physical and magical attacks.

At first, I tried to use Seijin as a sage in the second group in hopes of nuking both monks, but she could get targetted easily from either a monk (the one who can cast Stop) or a far away geomancer. I tried to use Orlandu on that side, which worked okay, but the first group would usually get destroyed because of the combined efforts of the holy priest, the time mage, and both geomancers (4v3).

Then I tried a meatier approach, with every character being either a class that can wear heavy armor, or having Equip Armor as support ability. But I couldn't find a setup that was powerful enough offensively to resist the powerful assault of the time mage's Draw Outs.

I found the key to victory when I decided to train Orlandu and have him learn Concentrate and Damage Split. I had Meliadoul learn those abilities as well, but she wasn't really a key factor to winning this battle. However, I figured that breaking equipment could give me an edge after the Holy Priest resurrects his dead allies.

Oh yeah, and I made The Man and Dead Fish physical powerhouses to deal with the monks, but the time mage ended up going their way, which made their lives more difficult, but made it easier on the first group.

Thank goodness I'm done with this battle, at last. Ironically, I had several moments of bad luck. 90% Teleports missing, the Holy Priest's Crush Punch's dead status working... I even made what might have been a dumb mistake at 7:40. I attacked the monk who has Hamedo with my samurai, from up close. Thankfully, Hamedo didn't trigger, but...

Yes, my Ramza's setup is probably poor. Thief with Equip Armor and Item secondary would probably be better... or maybe not. The plan was to have Ramza move first. As a knight using the Excalibur, he could move first thanks to the Haste, and attempt to steal the Holy Priest's weapon right away. I figured that I wouldn't get a winning run until stealing works on the first try, but this video proved otherwise. Also, I wanted to have Magic Ruin to deplete as much of the Holy Priest's MP as possible so he cannot use Raise 2. That's why my Ramza's setup is a bit weird.
