Seijin Plays Super Mario RPG Armageddon Part 23 : Yaridovich
0First of all, my apologies if you have been waiting for this video. I haven't uploaded in roughly two weeks for various reasons. My father was hospitalized, and my attention shifted to playing a game a bit too intensively, making me neglect my uploads. Anyway.
Intro : Super Mario RPG Armageddon is a fanmade hack of Super Mario RPG, by Dark Kefka. Its goal is to make the game more challenging and giving even veterans of the game a run for their money. Not only do monsters get a stat overhaul, but they also get completely new attacks. Additionally, there are countless several difference here and there. Weaponry, magic, items... everything has changed.
This video covers the battle against Yaridovich. To be honest, I didn't know what to expect. This was my first try (honestly, I beat most bosses on my first try), and the part where Yaridovich splits in two confused me.
in the original game, there is a real and a fake. Any damage you do on the fake means literally nothing. However, when you target Yaridovich, the cursor always defaulted on the real, as opposed to the fake. Once you knew that (probably not on the first playthrough, but you would probably notice on subsequent playthroughs), it was easy to deal with.
In this patch, I wasn't sure how to deal with that. I couldn't know at all if it defaulted on the real Yaridovich or not. I couldn't know if it was random, and whatnot. At one point, I changed my target to the second one out of curiosity, because, with all the damage I inflicted, I started to wonder whether I was hitting the right one. I also used Snowy.
Honestly, Yaridovich is a very physically powerful boss for this point of the game. If I had to redo this, I would definitely bring a Crystalline or Geno (for Geno Boost). So far, I haven't gone out of my way to get Crystallines and such (and I got way too many Power Blasts), but I think this is where you start to want to get Crystallines in your inventory, even at the cost of precious frog coins.
The rest of the video is just me checking shops and buying stuff in Seaside Town.
P.S. : Shocker is broken.
