A cover of the song (sic) by the band Slipknot, from their self titled album. This song is part of a charity cover album titled "Subliminal Verse: A Tribute to Joey Jordison" organised by GameGrooves.
All proceeds go towards the charities TM Awareness UK and SRNA. Both charities are to do with transverse myelitis, an illness Joey Jordison struggled with during his career.

In July 2021, the ex-drummer of Slipknot, Joey Jordison, unfortunately passed away. As he was an incredibly influential musician, with Slipknot and as well as other projects, GameGrooves decided to organise a Slipknot cover album for charity, in which I had the privilege of contributing towards with many other amazing artists who have also been influenced by Jordison. I was lucky enough to contribute two songs, "(sic)" and "Gehenna".
With this cover, I wanted to keep things relatively simple. We changed the tuning to Drop A to give it a slightly heavier edge (as well as having no guitars set up in Drop B) and slightly changed some of the parts such as adding blast beats which I felt fit the song as well as honouring Jordison's love for death metal. Vocally, I know I sound nothing like Corey Taylor so I attempted to not copy him exactly and do something I'm more comfortable with, which are my fry screams. While I know I'm not a great vocalist, hopefully I did it justice, and hopefully you enjoy this cover with our tribute to the legend himself, Joey Jordison.
