Meta is making big moves across the Quest platform: the Quest browser is adding ad-blocking, VPNs, and more extensions, while the Quest TV app is being overhauled into a central streaming hub. Horizon OS is also gaining some smart new tricks, like auto 3D image conversion in the gallery and seamless integration between Horizon Home and Central Plaza.
Meanwhile, Meta Connect is just one week away, and early 3D models suggest exciting new hardware. Expect the spotlight on new glasses SKUs, Horizon software updates, and even fresh headsets from ASUS ROG and Lenovo.
Elsewhere in XR, BeamXR restores native livestreaming from Quest to YouTube and Twitch without needing a PC, Horizon Worlds is adding a points system plus AI-powered NPCs using Llama 4, and vision body calibration is improving in Horizon OS v81+.
