Sonic Origins Plus got improved though the physical had the controversial dlc code for Amy and game gear games. Price drops, the included art book and patches helped a ton.
I'm gonna make my profile/avatar pic of Rasta Robotnik/Eggman (guessing name change due to shape of him and his robots) as it's hilarious to see Sega so woke while having cultural appropriation, especially considering knuckles with dreads passes for Jamaican.
The fact this has sonic boom (unlike sonic cd on steam pre origins, which also isn't compatible with that outdated steam deck) let alone tons of video short extras from concerts to voiceless animations is worth the price of purchase. Anniversary mode lets you get coins for all the unlocks to replace the extra lives (which classic mode would use). You can also spin dash in sonic 1 and do a drop dash.
2 player is kinda a pain making someone have to be Tails, but I'll take improvements and a lower price.
I am surprised how I got so many gaming ideas over the past week while I clean out my collection of stuff I know I won't play again like Ni No Kuni 2 or new pokemon snap, but I'm glad the industry has some stuff doing properly despite its flaws and pricing in some cases. I admit steam helps track wishlisting for hopefully improved console releases like ff pixel remasters.
