Today's session was just fur card placement and look refinements. Also midway through the unreal portions of the video I am updating the spines shader to have emissive lighting panner effects in there as well as two sided normals to try and fake that they are thick cylindrical spines/quills when in reality its a bit expensive to actually stick a bunch of tubes in him vs a single plane of strips of polygons to have a similar spines look to that of the movie at about 1/8 the cost on polygons. A Material Parameter Collection single scalar value will be used to control the emissive strength across all spines/quills per hedgehog character.
If you are a CC4 user you may wanna follow this whole process just to keep up with some success stories, missteps and backtracks. There will be plenty of mistakes made I assure you, but the point is taking advantage of these pre-rigged humanoids, putting your own new bones and appendages on them and still retaining CC4s built in facial rigging if you are like me, a character modeler/texturer with no animation chops whatsoever.
