Intel Spectre Next Gen Patches Delayed | ASRock Clears up Radeon Situation & More
Today, Intel have had to reportedly delay patches for Spectre NG vulnerabilities, which are eight new security vulnerabilities which have been discovered which are similar to Spectre. According to reports, four of these are critical and they effect a large range of Intel processors, so the microcode delay could have lasting impact.
We also have issues with Intel and their H310 supply, essentially, they do not have enough 14nm silicon to keep making all of the Coffee Lake motherboards. It is going to be the low end desktop CPUs which get the short end of the stick here, but apparently part of the blame can be placed on the delay of 10nm Cannonlake.
We also have something from ASRock, who have cleared up the situation with their Radeon GPUs in Europe. There were reports that they were banned from selling the graphics cards in the region, but now ASRock have issued a statement after a counter report surfaced recently.
We also have something from Nintendo, as they have confirmed that they apparently hate money as the Virtual Console will not be coming to the hybrid console. Instead, users will have to go to less wholeseem means or cough up if they wish to play their NES games.
Finally, we have something from Microsoft who seem keen to improve their slightly week first party IP lineup. They are creating a new Xbox Team in Santa Monica, whose sole focus seems to be the acquisition of talent and the creation of new IPs for Xbox.
