Splatoon 2: Running in to trouble in Tigerfest XXXVI [7-3, Sploosh-o-matic]
It's Tigerfest XXXVI! A bit of Splat Zones on Port Mackerel should be fun, and the Sploosh-o-matic works well for me in this rather flat stage. I tease the edges with Curling Bombs, and when I decide to move forwards I find that my squidmates have done an awful lot more than me. I try to help out, but only manage to run screaming towards a shooting Hydra Splatling. It does not go well.
My splatting wouldn't be so bad if everyone else didn't get splatted at the same time. Maybe we all had simultaneous bad ideas. Anyway, back to the action. Or maybe not. Thank goodness that hammer got yeeted badly in to the floor, not that it clears the way ahead. The other route doesn't look much safer, but at least I have a Splooshdown to help me out of trouble, and I use a Curling Bomb to move right behind the Splat Zones. Once again, I find my squidmates have already done the important inking.
Pressing our advantage works quite well. Lots of yellow ink comes our way, but we keep it out of the Splat Zones. I try to move around the flank again, nearly getting the jump on the Octobrush, and sliding closer to them as they run away to hit them with a new Splooshdown. I miss them, and the nearby Dynamo Roller only gets very messy, leaving me in an untenable position. The yellow team get me out of it.
I head back along the ledge, for some reason thinking this will keep me safer, only to drop down in to yellow ink without even looking first. After a couple of close encounters on one side, I switch to the other, and end up making a meal of splatting the Dynamo Roller. I splat them, though, and use my position to drop in on the Octobrush. I'd hoped to splat the Hydra Splatling, but never mind. I do my best not to rush straight towards them, as they are no doubt now expecting me, only to end up dashing right underneath their Splashdown. So it goes.
I super-jump back to the chaos, avoiding Bubbles, splatting a Hammer, and running away from even more ink, which somehow ends up with us holding the Splat Zones. I send a Curling Bomb through them, dashing behind it a bit recklessly, but it works out, as I see it catch the Octobrush super-jumping in perfectly. I line up to splat another super-jumper, but we end up winning the battle before they land. Never mind. Woomy!
