Whoever is coming along the opposite path to me also sees me coming, and we trade bombs briefly, before my retreat lets the Splat Roller appear rather unexpectedly. Undeterred, I head straight back for the corridor, but finding no traces of the roller decide to look for clams instead. There are plenty below me, and I soon have nine dragging behind me. I head towards the basket, knowing my League squidmate is up there, and have the tenth thrown at me. Somewhat sacrificially, I break the green barrier to open the scoring, but the green defence holds to prevent any more clams scoring.

I come back to grab the clams under our basket before jinking with the sponge to the blind corridor. Chickens help me detect the inklings ahead, and I manage to get the jump on the Splat Roller this time, only for the Squeezer to follow-up for the splat behind. It's almost like they're working together. I see the Squeezer stop near the basket and watch a power clam super-jump in, breaking the barrier, but this time with a large number of clams following in behind, our defence simply non-existent. I hurry forwards hoping to stem the flow, but the wall behind the basket protects the attackers more than the defenders, and I'm splatted whilst getting a splat. Thankfully, our Octobrush is able to clear the trouble.

I am over-cautious on my return, but seeing a squidmate grab the power clam helps me understand the threat is gone, so I head off hunting for clams. I soon have a nice cluster of my own, and make a power clam moments later. With an Ink Storm ready to launch I move on the basket, setting it free as a squidmate breaks the green barrier. I don't realise at the time, but the green team have been entirely splatted away, making my push across the grate less daring, but it still felt a bold way to add my power clam to the basket, giving us back the lead so soon.

I barely see the green team returning to defend, but I imagine they are there, giving their proficiency earlier, so I get some height to look around for more clams to score. There are none on the platform but plenty behind us. As I move backwards, the green defence picks up, splatting my squidmates and leaving me by myself. Rather than lunge back towards the closing basket or grabbing more clams for a new power clam which would make me a target, I hide on a wall for the time being. It turns out to be a good move. The green team don't know I'm there, and in tidying up our mess the Squeezer pops up right in front of me, giving me a nice and easy splat.

I keep my forward momentum going and head to the basket, where a green inkling may have bished. They grabbed their pity power clam, leaving behind the excess clams they were carrying under the basket, and I arrive in time to sweep up. I don't last much longer under the basket, but I break the barrier, reduce our buffer, and stop them scoring. My next outing is less successful, grabbing clams and trying to surprise the Squeezer from the side only to finally realise there are two of them, and looking at the map only gives me more cause for concern. There are green inklings around our basket, and they are putting Beakons down.

Our barrier is broken, clams are being thrown in, and there is green presence everywhere. Meanwhile, it's just our Octobrush up and about, and they get caught rushing back to defend. I drop down behind a Chicken, thankful to hear Bubbles popping before I get there, and somehow zig around the .96 Gal's shots before splatting a scoring Squeezer and just about reacting in time to the Splat Roller coming up the ramp. With the scores tied, it's disheartening to see a power clam super-jumping in, but somehow we manage to splat them before they make their throw. And with us having the lead, we keep it, the green score pushed back one point. Nice!

Tidying up after the attack finds a Beakon and the Splat Roller jumping to it, and with that cleared up I push forwards behind another power clam. My peek up the wall doesn't work this time, as the Squeezer stays in cover behind the corner, but my League squidmate gets quick revenge. Being splatted also works to our advantage. With my squidmates pushing forwards, I grab the pity power clam and super-jump to them. I score my power clam and splat away a couple of defenders, keeping a third busy whilst my squidmates score the other power clam, and add the few remaining clams we need to close out the battle. Woomy!
