Splatoon 3: Studying the blade in All-Grizzco Salmon Run [36-36-34-xs, 19/1299]
Some cannons for the start of the Run! They aren't Grizzco weapons, but they are more powerful still. I try to let the bosses get closer to the basket, for easier egg collection, whilst keeping the Cohocks at bay, but sometimes my squidmates get excited and I just have to keep shooting. I hop out to help with eggs, which turns out to be a good idea, as my squidmates need some help too. I revive one, miss the other, but hit the Steelhead to clear the area, and that leaves us free to dunk eggs. On to the second wave!
I get the Brolly as the tide comes in, hands-down the best weapon for inking, which is just as well, with all this bare walls. I splat a Fish Finger, and drop down to help out with a Flipper, before hoping the Steel Eel will get closer to the basket. No such luck, but maybe for the best, we don't need things to get busy, say with a dozen Smallfry all coming at once. We are doing well with splatting bosses, we just need the eggs to get to the basket. We keep a steady stream running, which lets us hit quota easily enough, and add a few more. A pretty smooth high-tide wave.
The final wave gives me the Splatana, which is a really powerful weapon if you know what you're doing. Luckily, I saw someone who did know what they were doing, who reminded me I can cut through anything with a charged slash. I almost put it to use against a Flyfish, my squidmates' Splat Bombs getting there first, but I find another. I splat a Steelhead first, as a moving Flyfish is a tricky target, and once again Splat Bombs get there before me. I take my frustration out on a Scrapper, and go back to the basket only to see another Flyfish appear. This one is mine, much to the surprise of the squidmate whose Splat Bomb hits nothing but turf. Hopefully I've shown them what the other inkling showed me, and they can pass it on too. I start throwing eggs up to the basket, until Flyfish missiles remind me I have work to do. I splat the Flyfish, pausing for a Drizzler, and splat a Steelhead and Scrapper in one hit as I return to celebrate Crab-style!
But we're not finished. In comes a Zuna. I hit it with some Charger shots to start, as my squidmates deal with the Flyfish with their buckets, dropping down from splatting a Fish Finger accidentally but being in a good position to start throwing eggs. The Zuna has moved up to the ship, which makes it hard to hit, so I throw what I can and move around, splatting a Flipper on my way. I launch more eggs, some of them maybe hitting the Zuna, and with no more eggs I just keep unloading my Charger at it. A Crab helps a bit, but I get splatted by extra bosses. No problem, I'm revived, more bosses are wending their way near the Zuna, and a few shots here and there get us the eggs we need to defeat it comfortably. Woomy!
