Super Metroid - Part 7: Backtrack from Brinstar + Wrecked Ship & Phantoom
89This long video is mainly about me using the Ice Beam and Power Bomb to backtrack out of lower Brinstar and to area close to Samus' spaceship, as well as getting a few more items along the way.
I continue to get more Missie powerups, as well as couple of Power Bomb powerup and the X-Ray Scope.
The X-Ray Scope lets you scan areas for hidden openings, and special blocks.
Eventually, as shown in the last quarter of this video, Samus discovers a Wrecked Ship. It's not just wrecked, it's haunted, as well, with a bunch of strange floating clusters of heads that appear and disappear.
The Wrecked Ship is also drain of power. This causes certain doors and machine, such as the Save Point and Map Data storage, to not work.
The main boss of this area, Phantoon, is responsible for all of this. You have to shoot at its eye when it opens up. You also have to dodge its blue fire, which I have a hard time doing. However, if the fire has eyes, you can shoot them.
Once Phantoon is killed, the Wrecked Ship is no longer haunted and its power is restored, allowing Samus to go to more rooms in the ship.
