Here we are, Ridley is finally playable in Super Smash Bros. after many memes on message boards saying that he is too big, but it happened anyway. Ridley is a great character to play as, his Side Special has him grab the opponent and drag them through the ground, and his down Special is a dangerous move, if you get the sweet spot, it will deal about 50 damage, so if you can land that attack, you can them launch then with a powered up Smash Attack. Another thing to note is that even though Port Town Aero Dive has been a stage since Brawl, it took until this game to add Port Town music for this stage, even though all F-Zero songs can be played on any F-Zero stage.
The other players did well, Robin mostly using Special Attacks, and Palutena now has Explosive Flame as her Side Special, the Reflect Barrier is now her Down Special, but only if you use projectiles against her, otherwise she uses Counter for close attacks, so this makes Palutena a better character than in Smash 4. There was some lag during the battle, and a new item added to the game is the Fake Smash Ball, it is like the Fake Item Box from the Mario Kart series where the Fake Smash Ball is inverted, and if you try to break it, it will explode and launch anyone caught in the explosion. Another thing to note is that while Chrom is a playable character, he still appears in Robin's Final Smash, making this the first time that a character is both playable and an assistant character in one game.
