To start the new year is another Online Tourney, and this is like the Super Smash Bros. 64 Tourney months ago, but this time it will have characters that made their Smash Bros. debut in Super Smash Bros. Melee for the Gamecube, as well as stages that first appeared in Melee, and items that were in that game. This Tourney is called Melee is Life, but outside of Europe, it is known as A Tribute to Melee.
Here are the following Melee characters that can be selected for this Tourney:
Peach, Bowser, Ice Climbers, Sheik, Zelda, Dr. Mario, Pichu, Falco, Marth, Young Link, Ganondorf, Mewtwo, Roy, Mr. Game & Watch
Then we have the following stages which first appeared in Melee that can appear in this Tourney:
Battlefield, Princess Peach's Castle, Rainbow Cruise, Kongo Falls, Jungle Japes, Great Bay, Temple, Brinstar, Yoshi's Island (Melee), Yoshi's Story, Fountain of Dreams, Green Greens, Corneria, Venom, Pokémon Stadium, Onett, Mushroom Kingdom II, Brinstar Depths, Big Blue, Fourside
Now onto the items that appeared in Melee that can appear in this Tourney:
Smash Ball, Poké Ball, Container, Food, Maxim Tomato, Heart Container, Super Mushroom, Poison Mushroom, Super Star, Warp Star, Metal Box, Bunny Hood, Beam Sword, Star Rod, Home-Run Bat, Hammer, Lip's Stick, Ray Gun, Fire Flower, Super Scope, Bob-omb, Motion-Sensor Bomb, Green Shell, Freezie, Mr. Saturn.

One thing to note is the Super Scope, which is called Nintendo Scope in Europe, and that Motion-Sensor Bomb was called Proximity Mine in the European version of Melee. The Smash Ball can appear in this Tourney, even though it didn't even appear in Melee, but it would make a lot more sense in a future Tourney with Brawl characters, since the Smash Ball first appeared in Brawl.
Like with previous Tourneys, all battles will be 2 minutes and 30 seconds, with items on medium, and the Final Smash Meter turned on, and good to have 16 participants in this Tourney.
I did see there was a lot of players that used Pichu and Ganondorf, well every bracket in this Tourney had at least one player that used Pichu, while my bracket was the only one to not have Ganondorf. I went with Roy for my character, as this is one of my favourite characters to use in Melee, and I am the only participant that picked Roy for this Tourney.
Depending on your placement, you will earn a Spirit for participating, and the higher you place, the better the Spirit.
The stages that appeared in this Tourney that were picked include Battlefield and Brinstar Depths, and even though this is the new Battlefield stage, Melee was the first game where Battlefield can be picked as a stage, and even though Final Destination was also in Melee, it cannot appear in this Tourney.
Music Played for Each Match:
Battlefield: Mob Smash
Brinstar Depths: Main Theme - Metroid Prime: Federation Force

I will also list the character and how many players used that character.
Bowser: 1
Ice Climbers: 1
Dr. Mario: 1
Pichu: 5
Falco: 1
Young Link: 1
Ganondorf: 3
Mewtwo: 1
Roy: 1
Mr. Game & Watch: 1
