Last month, Proterova called into #SuperOldGameSaturday for our preview program look at a game he loves and requested for this show, Greenheart Games' Game Dev Tycoon, but that was just a warmup for our full play of the Nintendo Switch version of this satirical 2012 simulation where you become a game developer circa 1984 and build up from your humble beginnings in the garage to a top-tier company (at least, that's the idea). For this, Proterova was in the room with me as we began our quest at completing this game at an earlier 3 PM EST starting time for this and most every play that he'll be a part of going forward, but that ended up working to our benefit for ourselves and "the best chat on Twitch" we got a longer playtime for this one, to the point where we realized that we'll need to come back to this game for future parts of this infectious title (it must be said that we will need to figure out scheduling details before you'll see other parts of this one, but I will work on it and let you know as soon as they are set). We all had a great time with this game that, when you think about it, is perfect for this show where we go deep into the guts of gaming, as it forced us all to truly think about what makes a good and successful game/developer, which led to discussions about big name companies that have let us down, our thoughts on their reputation when they do well or not, what's truly in a name of a game, what aspects of a genre and focus are important and even the asides that you'll only find here, such as nods to Captain & Tennille, The French Connection, developer Tamsoft (who this play is dedicated to) and much more. I once again thank Proterova for requesting and joining us for this game, as well as all of you in the chat (and guests from past shows) for your contributions (including game names/ideas for our play) and we look forward to our return to Game Dev Tycoon, but until then, enjoy part 1 of our full play (and if you like what you see here, stop by https://www.twitch.tv/captainditrag, where you can join our shows and conversations on what we play each week live, as well as see the planned time of our next stream)!

Finally, here's the Link List, with links for everything we and chat discussed on this show:
