#SuperOldGameSaturday - Parasite Eve (PlayStation) - Part 4
Originally Recorded/Aired on January 28th, 2023
We're back to Square Soft's 1998 PlayStation RPG gem Parasite Eve on #SuperOldGameSaturday, so that means Emetics has returned to guide us in Part 4 as we get deeper into the game's final challenge; the Chrysler Building. After I got us killed on floor 15 last time, I got Aya Brea and her equipment built up before this show and it certainly made a difference as we continued our climb, fought a bunch of enemies, began our hunt for the 14 Rare Trading Cards, drew out maps for the randomly generated floors here (of which there are 77 total) and basically had as relaxing a time as possible here talking about a variety of topics in this calm before the storm part. Yes, we'll finish this game in the next part on March 11th, but with us in a better place with Aya's stats, Emetics, I and chat basically had a 5 hour open-mic night talk about everything on our minds, some of which was related to this game, but a lot of it with other things like the 16-bit console war of the 1990s, games based on licenses that we remember and like/hate, games that somehow exist and perhaps cost a lot of money, storytelling of modern Square Enix (including how Parasite Eve's sequels did things compared to this), movies, music and how copyright indications have come up for our show (and, in the case of the last part of Parasite Eve, went away for some reason). Hey, we DID have a lot of space to breathe for this part, but it's a great reflection of what #SuperOldGameSaturday has become, thanks to our great chat and great guests; a relaxing hang-out at the end of the week where we go deep into gaming and all things tangentially connecting and perhaps even learn more about ourselves and gain important life-skills like cartography, cooking and keeping a conversation going. To that, I once again thank Emetics for leading us on this great game and to the chat for joining us on this journey. We're looking forward to completing this game in March, but until then, sit back, relax and enjoy the sights and sounds of Part 4 of Parasite Eve (also, if you like what you see here, stop by https://www.twitch.tv/captainditrag, usually each Saturday at 7 PM EST, to see these streams live and join/help drive the conversations on what we play each week)!
