#SuperOldGameSaturday Preview Program - Game Dev Tycoon (Nintendo Switch)

This is a unique installment of #SuperOldGameSaturday, as you may be able to tell by the "Preview Program" moniker. On the request of Proterova, who called in by phone for this video, we're going to be playing 2012's Game Dev Tycoon on March 25th, 2023 at 3 PM EST, but before then, he wanted to be involved in a practice run of this 2012 PC game (that's we're playing here and on its dedicated show for the Switch), and this is how it went. This is also us trying out what I initially thought about doing to have guest involvement in the days when COVID was ravaging the world (oh WAIT, it's STILL doing that with no end in sight, but hey, COVID IS why this show exists); having them call in. This is the best way we could possibly do it, where I have, in this case, Proterova on the end of a Discord call coming from my cell phone that's positioned close enough to the mic for him to be picked up (which is why he may not be completely audible here, but he mostly is) and with him muting Twitch's window on the other side (but running on the 3 second delay of when I do something and he sees it). Admittingly, this isn't an ideal situation, but when distance and/or health prevent a live meet-up with my guests (and when, unlike Nocturne with We Love Katamari, they're willing to work by these non-negotiable terms for at distance guest spots), this is how we can handle it. That being said, Proterova and BloodSpiceMoon will be on the show in person for the full play of this game, but for now, we're giving you the first in what will likely become a series of previews for certain games we'll give dedicated shows to (I think I'll need to do one for Contra Hard Corps, for example, before we play that in September). Proterova and I had a great time, as did the best chat on Twitch who stopped by to get an idea of what this cheeky, smart and surprisingly in-depth and open-ended simulation about running a video game company is like, while I saw things that I never saw in my time playing this (two words: Coach's Conundrum).
