Today we have a simulated game between the Chicago Bulls and the New York Knicks in Tecmo NBA Basketball for the Nintendo. Release Date: 1992 (1993 in the US)

As a huge basketball fan I'm so sad I didn't have this growing up. In my opinion this game is very advanced for it's time.

I was kind of blown away by the features and modes in such an early NBA game. It has real rosters, full season, preseason, all-star modes, lots of tweaks and customization. You can even simulate games, which is rare for a sports game on the NES. Really impressive stuff.

Not only that but the graphics are really solid(aside from some weird color palettes). Character models don't differ very much but they do look nice, as does the court and crowd.

Its hard to find stuff to complain about when your expectations are so thoroughly exceeded. The color palette thing(Chicago has pink instead of red for their colors, yet the Hawks are red like they're supposed to be.) is probably just a result of the NES limitations or an attempt to differentiate the jerseys more.(?)

I thought maybe this was just my version of the game but it appears the bulls are apparently meant to be that shade of red/pink.

There is a little sprite flicker but that is to be expected of an NES game with this many characters on screen.

I really do feel compelled to start a season in this now, so cool.

All game settings on default aside from lowering quarter length to 2 mins(as low as it would go). I have no idea why this didn't record in 1080 HD like normal. I thought it looked alright so I didn't delete it. I've already fixed the issue and it will be back to 1080 again next video.
