8Xevious, originally an arcade hit from Namco in 1982, made its way to the ZX Spectrum in 1987 converted by US Gold.
This vertical scrolling shooter pits you against the forces of a rogue supercomputer called GAMP on the alien planet Xevious. It's a pretty bogstandard shooter, very monochrome and the action feels quite barren.
It's not the best shooter on the Speccy but as a conversion of an arcade pioneer, it holds up decently. If you're a shoot 'em up fan, give it a go.
