The 7th Guest of one of two killer apps for CD-ROMs on PC that came out in 1993. Like many games of the era, it made heavy use of FMV, and 3D pre-rendered graphics. The game itself is a point & click interactive horror movie puzzle game. You are Ego, you wake up in the Strauf mansion with no memory of who you really are, or why you are there. As you explore the house, you see visions of guests who died in the house, and must solve several challenging puzzles to escape.

While not selling nearly as well as Myst, The 7th Guest is fondly remembered as one of the best games ever made during the early CD-RIM era. Gamers Bay on Google Plus participated in the marketing for a crowdfunding project that sought to remake the game for modern hardware. That project not made it to production, but the gamer was eventually remastered in a mobile game, which was later ported to PC. That port is currently available on Steam.
