Alien Trilogy was the first true FPS game that tied into Ridley Scott's sci-fi horror movie franchise. In fact, it was also the first game to feature motion captured characters, the xenomorphs. Very loosely based on the movies, though heavily influenced by Aliens and Alien 3, the game casts you as Lt. Ellen Ripley, a colonial marine tasked with reestablishing contact with the colony on LV426. The game has you moving through a series of corridors, some blocked with boxes and explosive barrels you need to clear, and you'll occasionally encounter face huggers and xenomorphs. Ripley is armed with iconic weapons from the Alien franchise, like the pulse rifle, smart gun, and more. Each level plays out similar to a map in Doom. You need to find a battery which activates the door that lets you advanced to the next area, and in each level there are switches that activate doors, and secret areas with ammo and health pickups.

Alien Trilogy was well received by critics, and the game was ported to PlayStation and Sega Saturn as well as MS-DOS for PC, which is the version demonstrated in the video today.
