The Chinese Autobot We Almost got in Transformers 4. Sponsorships and commercials have always been the go to strategy for Transformers. The cartoon episodes were literally 20-minute commercials to sell toys. And Michael Bayโs TF movies were no different. The guy started his career as a commercial and music video director. Which explains why he puts so much emphasis on all the various product placements in his films. And that includes the Cybertronians who were basically walking advertisements for the latest vehicles. Each respective character got to shine in a specific scene while in their sleek and overpriced alt mode. But there was 1 character who was robbed of the spotlight in Transformers 4. During the films production Paramount partnered with Chinese car manufacturer GAC Motor to feature their vehicle in the movie. Which we would see the character Su Yueming drive during the battle in China. But we never see the vehicle transform. All we got was this commercial showing a red GAC GSC transform into a cool Autobot.
