I returned to the Lucky Pardner Mine in the mountains of San Diego's East County. I was last here almost three years ago but failed to climb down the vertical shaft that is inside the mine tunnel. This time we made the descent and found a very strange animal skull in the lower level. We aren't sure what kind of animal this was -- all we know is that it was obviously small and had a lot of fangs.
