The Order: 1886 - glitches and observations pt. 1
Some miscellaneous glitches from this game.
0:00 - just a simple test of what happens if you use prompts with the NPC partner in between Galahad and the prompt. The game tries to auto-position Galahad for a longer time than usual, then just straight up zips him up to the prompt, causing the NPC partner to get squashed in a tight place.
0:26 - same, except using a door. Galahad just plows through the ally like he didn't exist.
0:39 - this is a somewhat special occurrence, since a cutscene immediately teleports the ally after you open the door. Looks a bit strange nonetheless.
0:47 - an Out of Bounds that is possible in Chapter 3-2. After passing through the shimmy and punching a guy, intercept Lafayette before he settles into place standing near the staircase (otherwise you can't push him around).
Push Lafayette up the stairs and wait for him to walk back down again. If you run towards him right now, you should gain a lot of height ("height gain exploit"). This causes Lafayette to back away. With enough height and Lafayette backing towards the back wall in just the right way, you can get on top of some collision near the door.
(At first I thought this collision were the railings on either side of the door, but it turns out that's not the case. You get on top of the collision even if you're nowhere near the railings. However, the railing might help keep Lafayette in reins better and walk in a more controlled way, so doing this trick slightly towards the railings might not be a bad idea. Not too much, though, since directly touching the railings ends the height gain exploit.)
Walking towards the wall causes Galahad's position to shift slightly. I'm not sure if he is actually rising up during all this, but eventually - if you're on the right side - he is pushed off the side and falls out of bounds.
1:28 - doing the same thing from the right side causes you fall inside some collision instead. This keeps Galahad suspended between floor and wall, making him fall in place endlessly. You can move around slightly by rotating in place, but generally speaking, you're just stuck right now.
2:25 - other small examples of height gain exploit. I tried it at several other points in Chapter 3 as well, but didn't manage to go OoB anywhere else.
2:51 - I tested what happens if you hold a grenade as it explodes while leaping off a ledge. This makes Galahad enter weakened mode while in air, and you get to stay in air too if you keep moving towards certain walls. Hard to say if this could ever come in handy.
3:34 - here's something dumb to try out during the Blacksight-tutorial in Chapter 1. If you only keep switching targets and don't shoot at anyone for several minutes, eventually Galahad starts moving around the room while in Blacksight. It just looks strange, but is entirely useless.
Sadly I didn't capture much footage of when Galahad is right in the middle of the foes posturing wildly and shifting around. It looks pretty deranged, especially since he is also invulnerable during all this time.
4:28 - one last example of squeezing through an ally.
