It's a great idea in theory to have the body of Geralt - one of gaming's gruffest and most humorless male leads - be taken over by a sex-crazed ghost with a complete lack of social skills. Also, making the Vlodimir/Geralt possession an opportunity for Shani to reflect on her relationship with Geralt adds a nice element of dramatic irony to the proceedings and amounts to some of the smartest writing in the series.

The problem with CD Projekt RED taking on comedy is that it requires exactly the kind of economy, timing and pacing which The Witcher's long-winded dialogue scenes have always been notoriously lacking. Hearing Vlodimir-as-Geralt droning on and on about his earthly appetites gets tedious real fast, and ironically makes the game's protagonist even more of a bore than he already was. And that poor Shani doesn't just beat the bastard senseless and lock him in a closet after about five minutes is more unrealistic and fantastical than all of the monsters in The Witcher 3's bestiary combined...
