I never played the Hearts of Stone DLC for Witcher 3 and was thinking I'd get through it before the bigger expansion Blood & Wine comes out next week, but going back to CD Projekt RED's massive RPG has been an incredibly rough experience. First and foremost, the combat feels completely underwhelming and I almost can't believe I suffered through some 90-100 hours of this tiresome and frustrating gameplay system during 2015 (at the highest difficulty, no less). To be fair, the weapons and equipment I have for Geralt right now is probably terrible for the kind of high-level end game content offered by the DLC, but I vaguely remember having a big problem finding or crafting any better armor and swords during my last 10-15 hours with the game last year. Meeting Shani was a nice way to start out Hearts of Stone, but it's going to have to get a *lot* better than this for me to slog through the rest of this with my sanity intact...
