The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - Is The Witcher 3 Worth Buying? (Initial Impressions & Gameplay)
610The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt has finally been released. While the game was one of the most anticipated games of 2015, in the last couple of days we heard multiple rumours about the game. Did the graphics turn out to be awful? Is the gameplay clunky? Is the world really as great as the developers promised?
Now that The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is out on the PC, I can give you my opinion. All gameplay in this video is played on the PC on High settings.
My initial impressions are very positive. The game looks great (although definitely not as great as the developers had initially promised), and plays very well. The world feels alive and is huge. It feels like you are living and working in a world, rather than that the world revolves around you.
The story line of the main quest is solid and while I did not even closely complete it, there is a lot to learn and discover. The side quests however, and the living world is what surprised me the most. Everything is voice-acted and unique.
My biggest problem with the game is the pathing and the clunkyness of the combat. Often times it feels like the character is not responding as well as I would like to, or he just simply walks into a door when I clearly tell him to turn around. This is something that can easily be patched and updated. Not a huge problem, but there is definitely room for improvement.
I would recommend purchasing the game if you enjoy casual Role Playing Games and enjoyed similar games as mentioned in the video.
