Tier Ranking My ENTIRE Board Game Collection
Here at Shelfside we like to review games, so we decided to just do a really quick ranking of all of the games during the shelter-in place. Ashton has been collecting games seriously for about 7 years, starting with classics like Settlers of Catan and Pandemic, branching into more serious games like Twilight Imperium 3 and 4 (TI3 &TI4), with the occasional party games like Codenames and Resistance thrown in. Over the course of many years, the collection has tended to have the flagship games of Twilight Imperium 4, Battlestar Galactica, Civilization, and Mansions of Madness, which all have one thing in common: being big Fantasy Flight Games.
However, besides those roleplaying fantastical thematic games, there's categorization of games from all over Board Game Geek (BGG), like Lords of Waterdeep, HeroQuest, Throw Throw Burrito, Once Upon a Time, Taboo, Cards Against Humanity, Monopoly Fortnite, and Caverna. We are under the impression that every single game mechanic is within this collection, whether it be area control, storytelling, hand management, or cooperative gameplay. If the tier listing is contradictory with some score seen in a personal score somewhere else on this channel, my impression of it has likely altered after not playing it for a while or playing it more times. After all, our tastes can change over time.
