I never want to play this again. Though I will say my gaming skills have improved since I first played this game about ten years ago. Despite what you may think about getting old and dull. The game was originally a tongue-in-cheek action game for the arcade where you played as a man who's shortie is kidnapped by an ugly guy and then you're turned into a monkey. The NES version sees a dumb down of graphics and sound which are typical for the arcade to NES ports, but the game play is still entertaining regardless of these flaws.
I neither love nor hate this game, it's just there. I have a feeling, despite my claim at the beginning of this dissertation, that I will be playing this on other platforms as well. The game was released everywhere. This was not uncommon during the early 90's when there was a proliferation of consoles when transitioning from the third to fourth generation. While today it's common to see a popular release on all three consoles and PC, things were different in the twenty years ago when a war was raging for our gaming dollars. Books have already been written on the complexities of this history and I have not the room here to delve into the complexities of devloper/publisher/system contracts and rivalries, but needless to say this is one of the "popular" games of that time that made it to nearly every system out.
