Tony & Friends (Amiga) - A Playguide and Review - by LemonAmiga.com
Tony & Friends is a cutesy platformer from Factor 5, sponsored by Kellogg's; so it should be GRRRRRREAT! - Lets find out. :) (This review was requested by 'Hippi' - thanks!)
Production Notes:
Ripped: 23rd Feb 2015
Edited: 3-6 Aug 2015
Yes, I planned to say "It's not Grrrreat!" in the review, in the classic Tony Tiger voice! (which isnt too far from Yogi Bear voice), but although laughing at the prospect for days before making this, in the end I forgot to say it. I also had a good laugh imagining how I'd describe the exit doors which look more like part of a females anatomy, and I took out early references to this (flaps) and just threw away the virgina line at the end.
I played the game once several weeks before I ripped this second attempt, and had I known about the boss in advance I think I could have made it to the second world no problem, but the game is too repetitive compared to many great platformers; including Putty Squad, Liquid Kids, Cool Spot and Robocod. For the comparison zone I added Mr Nuts - perhaps the best example, which makes all before it look bland. Thanks to the fan who recommended this game for the show. I could have ripped this to bits but I hold Factor 5 and the Amiga games history in too high a regard.
