First Samurai (Amiga) - A Playguide Review - by LemonAmiga.com
First Samurai is a thoughtful platformer, with takes time to master. I try to complete the game in less than an hour.

The first try to record this game failed, so I took the introduction sequence from that and added it to a complete run recorded a bit later. Even though I'm more familiar with the game now, you still see me wandering around blindly on the Crystal level and at the end, as I try to remember which way to go, and failing to complete the Disk level meant I only made 2nd in this competition round. No savestates were used of course, but the in-game audio goes out of alignment after every 10mins, so once again I had to try to realign the audio at the start of every level.
As usual with these long videos, I added a few things to the edit to save the game getting boring from around the midway point. Then I go into the history of the game - taking us to the last level. Without the music it would drag, and this shows what a difference music makes to an experience. The video will perhaps be banned in several countries because I used copyright music (Arcadia, Gladiators), so I wont be making a habit of this, but there is a youtube unblocker add-on for most web browsers out there.
The oriental music I used was from a band called Arcadia, and its an unreleased track, so may be hard to find?, and may cause more copyright issues. I ripped the Gladiators music from one of Lukozers recent videos, as it saved time. This game came out around Dec 1991, and Gladiators UK started on ITV in Oct 1992, so its very much a 90's track, while the Arcadia and Last Ninja music is 1980's.
