Breath of Fire - Low Level Game Part VI: Mothro & Mote
15The last two battles we fought before confronting Zog. I think they stood out a bit from the boredom of this challenge's midgame.
The Mothro boss knows a lot of status inflicting attacks and he's the most evasive boss in the game. Every attack thrown at him has a 25% chance of missing. We get really unlucky with accuracy at some parts.
We must once again make an effort not to kill the boss too quickly.
Mote is interesting. The first time you fight him he can't be damaged. When his Conscience comes and makes him feel guilty or whatever, the actual battle begins.
Yes, it's that pixelated boss. Physical attacks, especially Karn and Ryu hitting him with Dark Daggers, deal a lot of damage to the boss, but with every attack he also gains his shape. When he isn't pixelated any longer, physical attacks start being weak.
This is when we drop Karn for Bo. Bo is faster than Ox, but slower than Ryu. Going in that exact order: Ryu, Bo, Ox - the three can keep making the boss change his form, receiving good damage from both types of attacks.
As you can see, the boss is offensively more dangerous than the previous enemies I faced, as I lose Ryu in the midst of the battle.
Zog is next, I guess. Things really pick up here.
