Troddlers Game Sample - PC
Original Air Date: May 20, 2009
Think of Lemmings except without any fun... OF COURSE I'M KIDDING! Actually, Troddlers is one of my favorite puzzle games that I've been struggling to find in the wild for years now. I was first exposed to it back on the old SNES when I was a kid. I rented it a lot and was sad when I couldn't rent it anymore as it mysteriously "vanished" in my area back in New York. I haven't seen a copy of the game for SNES since, as it is certainly one of the more uncommon games on the system. I only learned that an Amiga version (family of personal computers) and MS-DOS version of this game was available two years ago.
Playing as either Hocus or Pokus, you have to guide stray Troddlers (who move about on their own kinda like Lemmings) to different exits situated on each level. Unlike Lemmings however, you directly control Hocus or Pocus who must run around and set up a path for the Troddlers using their magic, which adds some platforming fun into the mix. The game starts very simple, but you'll soon run into all sorts of impedements like cannons, ice blocks, mines, the dreaded zombies, and much more.
Troddlers is a very refreshing and original puzzler that I highly recommend. Enjoy.
