Due to the ongoing refactor the next Privateer dev log won't be released for another two weeks.

In the mean time this short tutorial is for two simple features I hadn't seen other channels explain. I figured them out on my own while trying to make weapon handling similar to Escape From Tarkov, and they are meant to be combined with other features such as weapon sway, procedural recoil, and animations.

Prior to animating the weapons myself I found the system quite decent. Once I added my own amateur animations though, the combined result became something I wasn't a fan of. I still like the idea, but I don't think as a solo dev I'd be able to maintain it. As a result I'm reworking weapons entirely, but I hope someone else finds the idea useful.

If you've got questions, I'm more than happy to answer them in the comments.
