Ultima IX - Tidbits #20: Crystal displacing an enemy
0Trying to find uses for the "Grow Crystal" spell, as well as trying to find more interaction options for NPCs, especially monsters, I found this small thing. The skeletons in the cave new Yew can't come out because the elevation (except if you shatter and reassemble them, but that won't work for other enemies), so you can't have fun with leading them into an unintended area, but growing a crystal below them sometimes works. Both on-camera and off-camera the success ratio was 50%.
Then you can see that I lead it to the bandits and when I evade it by making it be stuck behind a trunk, it starts to follow the bandit closely, yet it doesn't attack.
This is of course only for the recording, off-camera I led it to the shrine and found that it doesn't follow the brute that I already led there and that it burrows underground when I go far, waiting for me to approach it again.
