The room you see in the crystal ball really exists on the map and as one can see, they solved this reverse goat thing by having the actual room reversed and the goats stand alright.
If you fly there before looking into the crystal the goats are not there and the invisible blockage seems bigger, like part of it was a placeholder for the goats.

The almost entire Deceit, including the starting area (both red and blue spider versions as separate rooms), the main lava area and the small challenges are floating above the same green field with one single grass/sand transition, which might refer to some step trigger existing or cut, since something similar is in the prison with the Lord British lookalike, where the automatic conversation is triggered, but this is just speculation so far.

I found no items or objects, but one of the corners has these two teleport pads. The one I placed a skull on plays the inprisonment scene and puts you back into the starting room with all equipment removed. This one other just puts you back into the main lava room.

Now, I didn't come closer to revealing the sense of the reverse room. When I was young and I thought this game was mostly intended how it was released (before knowing the other Ultimas) I thought this was only to detail the wickedness of this dungeon, since the manual warned me for this area being full of crazy puzzles. Now I think it refers to some cut content, like another challenge room. I will investigate further to see if additional changes occur while playing.

By the way, I got the sword from defeating the skeleton in the room with 3 buttons. I used kick attacks and it missed enough times so that I didn't even need potions.
