Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 -- 22 April 2013, Player Matches #01
This seems like a particularly place to carry on with in terms of following the previous set of videos, given that it was located somewhere in the temporal vicinity of the other games' capture.
This was actually done the very last night of the free Gold weekend, and we kinda went a little overboard in the name of science and trying to figure out when exactly it would end... and I got tired of waiting for things to stop working, including disconnecting and returning to find that I still wouldn't be refused my access to the eager-to-exclude LIVE service...
Check out more from the other side of the aisle over yonder!

Match #1 -- Tricell Laboratory
Super-Skrull, Ryu, and M.O.D.O.K. (The Overhazard)
vs.
Strider Hiryu, Chris, and X-23 (YuuGiJoou)
I swear I wasn't trying to get a line, I preemptively switched Chris to the front of the order because I thought maybe I would do best with him compared to the other two... and for that matter, I'd want him to have healed while the others threw themselves down to keep him alive.
Anyway, a couple of notes on me getting my feet wet again that I suppose might not be quite as apparent as I'd hope looking at things:
I'd more recently experienced fighting games where you can hammer on light attacks to start a combo without causing a lot of displacement from your foe before moving onto the next links... a bad habit that I'll need to break for certain characters with more specific attack reaches (especially the launcher) like Hiryu.
My fresh perspective after taking some time away has me thinking of the applicability of Snap Back attacks. Sure, they cost a stock of meter, but they almost certainly do more "damage" in that they prevent opponents from coming back in healed later that they're worth investing in as a technical tool in my arsenal.
I think the rest can be explained by some really interesting and lucky breaks with attack priority and unintentionally fortuitous timing.

Match #2 -- Days of Future Past
Dormammu, Hulk, and Shuma-Gorath (The Overhazard)
vs.
Phoenix Wright, Vergil, and M.O.D.O.K. (YuuGiJoou)
Some characters, like Vergil or Hiryu, with their extremely large and unwieldy long special move repertoires are... not something I can manage to get away with by feel. it's more about slowly building familiarity through execution and THEN maybe someday being able to summon everything you want when you want it. I assure you that in the meantime, anything that looks neat or planned out is luck that I'll spend the rest of several matches trying to recreate, sadly.
Or I could end up going with something relatively "stupid" like having M.O.D.O.K.'s more obvious talents applied in a more strategic than technical sense. Of course, my timing and planning aren't so great for such a thing as that either, so the result one way or the other will probably look as stupid anyhow.

Match #3 -- Demon Village Redux
Super-Skrull, Strider Hiryu, and Zero (The Overhazard)
vs.
M.O.D.O.K., Zero, and Frank West (YuuGiJoou)
Now, Frank requires both knowledge of his repertoire (which is basically in no way similar to TvC's Frank West) and the good timing and sense to execute it... so if I struggle with both the extreme cases I mentioned already, the fusion between the two is utterly beyond my ken. I'd be lucky to even be able to take a picture! But at least I'm starting to see glimpses from the other side and how things are supposed to fit together... maybe. Someday!
Other than that, there's a little divide by Zero long-range light show, which is amusing.
The thing I must say is that I did NOT intend to whip out a Level 3 there... I just wanted a Rekkoha on ONE target... Very weird.

Match #4 -- City That Never Sleeps
Felicia, Jill, and Trish (The Overhazard)
vs.
Hsien-ko, Nova, and Spencer (YuuGiJoou)
Well, we've seen plenty of evidence in the past that Nova and Spencer do NOT click with me, although there have been varying degrees of fluke performances, too.
Good thing Hsien-ko is my "favorite" Darkstalker! ...meaning the one I can actually use after picking up a Darkstalkers game on a whim fairly recently... and fortunately her strongest regular moves take after her home series tendency to be absolutely ridiculous and more akin to mini-special moves. Knowing how her ACTUAL special moves work, actually activating X-Factor for a change, and drawing the right Hyper Combo out of her generous sleeves at the right time will do the rest.
Oh, and I want to point out that it's NOT my intention to showcase only the "high points" in all this, but I admit to having initially requested the footage be divvied according to how we could each manage to offer insights... which... I guess WOULD roughly correlate... shucks!
