Happy belated Nintendo Content ID match day!

The ever-topical Overhazard has already uploaded a first cut of the matches held in this session, so you will probably have already seen more of them live here:

Me? This change doesn't affect me in the slightest... although chances are that it'll affect viewers who used to get to certain things without ads, which to be fair has always been part of my desire anyway (I sympathize, because I watch my own videos too sometimes!)... but besides that, it's the sort of thing that I assume "should" be the case, because the audiovisual elements ARE entirely owned and created by someone (or several someones) other than myself.

While I believe there IS value to my personal perspective, controller inputs, and particularly my endless rambling... none of that actually comes close to the value of the thing that they're centered around and gives them context. Even if I thought me talking overtop everything else was added value--in my case (and the cases of MANY others... not everybody, mind you, but I DO feel comfortably justified pigeonholing the sheer vast majority), I'd actually consider it a detriment--the result would still not even come close.

So... for lack of a means of differentiating out the magnitude of contributions and collaborations without trying to take credit for the whole impartial parcel, this is a heck of a lot more reasonable than a lot of people are making it sound. If anything, this is how it SHOULD have worked all along, but new technologies and expanding social awareness and all that. (Or I could be feeling involuntarily and surprisingly smugly self-satisfied, because of how it has been relevant to my philosophy on the matter all along, you decide.)

I'm pretty sure I've been on the record on all these various points before (and more!), so none of this should be a surprise... I just wanted in on the "fun" as well, particularly as an apparently dissenting view... at least if you listened exclusively to all the angry buzz. (I'm never particularly buzz-worthy or angry anyway.)

Oh well, looks like I chewed up a ton of description content for saying a lot of the same nothing I always have... imagine that!

While we're already well-acquainted with two of my regular co-conspirators, B×B is a recently-recurring new addition to the eclectic escapades, and for those who slept through ...well, basically every math class ever, it's the best way I can think of to get around the short character limit and lack of superscript 2 for Brawl profile names.

Match #1 -- Final Destination
Kirby (Joou)
vs. Zelda (Snivy)
vs. Mr. Game & Watch (B×B)

My esteemed opponent customarily discards any and all Final Destination matches just because of their venue... I suppose if I actually played any random matchmaking whatsoever anymore, I'd probably sympathize a lot more strongly. Anyway, as a true equal-opportunist, I can only judge a match's value by the content of its interacting characters... although as subjective as that is, I suppose ANY means of narrowing things down would theoretically be more than welcome. Good thing I'm never about making things easy on myself! (unless that means taking the day off from YouTube-related stuff!)

The only thing that bothers me in hindsight here is that I was disconcertingly comfortable overusing the Final Cutter... and if the situation was reversed, I can't help but feel my normal modus operandi would've kicked in and forced me to "educate" the player in question in the ways of pain and loss.

Match #2 -- Halberd
Jigglypuff (Joou)
vs. Snake (Snivy)
vs. King Dedede (B×B)
vs. Captain Falcon (KOK)

The randomizer would NOT stop giving me Jigglypuff throughout the night's entertainment, although this was but the first of many... too many? All I know is that it created the opportunity for way too much irresponsible puffing about, which of course leads to very inconsistent and unpredictable results. I'd like to think that this policy of decidedly unserious behavior has a contact high of sorts that generates even more spontaneous activity than usual. Yes, I'm under the delusion that I am a mind-altering intoxicant and I should probably be subject to external regulation of some sort... just not the kind I'm thinking of, and I'm sure the men in white coats will be along shortly to take care of the situation instead.

Well, there's that... or there's the matter that the crazies congregate together anyway, and thus the odds of that blended flavor of extra-craziness creating bizarre occurrences gets to be that much higher.

---

Match #3 -- Dream Land
Samus (Joou)
vs. Yoshi (Snivy)
vs. Fox (B×B)
vs. Bowser (KOK)

I never seem to have very good "luck" with how the bomb blocks on this stage selectively explode at people and even MORE selectively decide how those explosions hit anybody unwise enough to have been standing in the immediate vicinity. But the end result is always glorious. Always.
