Description:
Cloud is an ex-SOLDIER turned mercenary, who accepts a job from Avalanche, an eco-terrorist group that opposes his former employer. 0:00 Recap
0:19 Aerith's House
Marlene is safe here.
Elmyra confirms Aerith is an Ancient, and Shinra wants her for her ability to commune with the Lifestream.
10:01 Sector 5 Slums
10:38 Collapsed Expressway
You have to take a different route because of the damage. You also have to fight Beck again, and he has a beefy new recruit.
17:36 Evergreen Park
Make sure to get a new weapon for Barret, since it gives him his first non-Focus attack command.
19:20 Park Tunnel
21:06 Sector 7 Slums
Marle is still here trying to rescue people.
Wedge's cat leads us to a big hole in the ground.
25:05 Underground Lab
We spot Wedge unconscious, but the grating collapses and the party is separated. You have to solo the first part of the dungeon with Barret, but he should be able to survive if you have his new Maximum Fury ability.
Eventually, Tifa will rejoin, but Cloud won't rejoin right before the boss fight.
40:02 Boss: Failed Experiment
First, you have to take out two waves of minions. If you get lucky with Blizzara Magnify, you can get a full limit gauge for Barret.
Tifa will eventually have to climb up to the upper level, but the boss will appear and throw its minions at you. Once Tifa takes care of the minions, she and Barret should try to use Blizzard on the boss's appendage. However, Tifa's Blizzard/Blizzara spells might hit the floor if she's not standing at the edge of the platform.
Eventually, the boss will destroy the platform and summon even more minions while using really difficult attack patterns. If you're going to use magic, have Barret cast Blizzage Magnify immediately before the boss can cast reflect on all minions. Fortunately, I used Barret's limit break to quickly pressure it before it could do too much. When it's pressured, unlike me, you should move to the front of the boss to deal damage to its heart, though you can still probably stagger it.
44:17 Underground Lab
Cloud shows up late, even though his Triple Slash would have been good for crowd control.
The party discovers another lab room, but Cloud starts remembering things and the spectres push everyone back to the surface.
46:26 Sector 7 Slums
Wedge got sent up too, which is strange because the spectres seem to have it out for him.
49:38 Aerith's House
Cloud believes Hojo is going to hurt Aerith, despite her value as a Cetra. That night, Cloud will get to have a moment with whoever he has the highest affection with. Yes, this includes Aerith, even though she physically isn't here. She warns Cloud not to fall in love with her, meaning she either knows about her fated death or she thinks Cloud's feelings are based on his coping mechanism of imitating Zack.
The next day, make sure to grab the pedometer materia.
