Virtua Fighter Kids - Sega Saturn - Intro & attract with arcade mode playthrough as Lion [1080p50]
Full playthrough / longplay / trueplay as Lion Rafale in this super deformed version of Virtua Fighter 2. With all the characters being chibi sized versions of their normal height. The core Virtua Fighter gameplay remains largely the same as Virtua Fighter 2, but the balancing for a lot of the moves is somewhat different. There's also an added kids mode for the control type that performs random combos for the player, just in case you don't want to use any skill what so ever to win matches. One credit clear (1CC) but we missed out on the extra ending by not beating Dural at the very end.
Perhaps an attempts to get more younger gamers interested in the Virtua Fighter series. It doesn't quite deliver what it needs too, as the game feel more like it should have been included in the standard Virtua Fighter 2 release. That's not too say it isn't packed with some nice content and plenty of modes. It's just the limited range of the characters, makes the fighting rather awkward as most moves have to be performed starting directly next to your opponent.
Great fun playing with a few mates after coming back from the pub, but not a serious tournament fighter in any way. The Japanese release included a number of adverts for Java Tea in Japan and there was also a special Java Tea demo version too. All mention of Java Tea was thankfully removed from the western port. Captured from the PAL version of the game which is PAL optimised for 50Hz. Release for the Sega Titan Board (ST-V) in arcades the game was ported to the Saturn in the same year.
