Watch_Dogs on Linux (Proton)
6After uploading a couple of Assassin's Creed games I've decided to put a video of another popular Ubisoft franchise.
The first Watch Dogs game was flawed, but it showed some potential.
Running this game on Linux can be a bit tricky so pay attention to the tweaks you need to do below.
If you aren't afraid of a little bit of terminal magic, the game runs perfectly fine, as you can see.
Oh, and there aren't any heavy spoilers in the video, but there are some minor ones, so... you have been warned!

My specs are:
Distro: Ubuntu 19.04
Proton: 4.11-2
CPU: Intel Core i7-8700K @ 3.70GHz
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080
GPU Driver: NVIDIA 430.40
RAM: 16 GB
Tweaks:
As it is the case with all the games using the Uplay client, it's better to disable the Uplay overlay.
Then, you need to use either winetricks or protontricks (I recommend the latter in case of Proton) to change the OS version to Windows XP and to install xact. This tweak solves the problem of missing sound in the game.
