Transcript:
What If Wolverine was Public Enemy Number One? Logan is a furrier working in 1920s Canada. He goes to a saloon run by his friend Gerard, who offers to give him the place if he'll help smuggle a large amount of booze into Prohibition-era Chicago. Logan declines, even after finding out he's fathered a child with one of the prostitutes, but that night, the place is burned to the ground by the ganglord Scarface, killing everyone inside. Logan goes to Chicago looking for answers and is saved from a hit by a man named Matteo. They track Scarface to the Metropole Hotel, where they cause enough of a distraction to give Logan enough time to get to Scarface's suite, where he's met by a legion of paid-off police officers. He's chained up and brought to Scarface, who turns out to be this universe's version of Dog Logan. He gets ready to kill Logan, but it's revealed Logan had also planted a large amount of dynamite under the hotel, which goes off and levels the hotel. Logan survives and, with Matteo's help, starts to clean up Chicago. This is an alright closer for the volume, with probably the best artwork out of these issues. My problem is the title is a lie, as Logan doesn't become Chicago's most wanted. At least not in the story itself. And I don't know why it's a Wolverine story when it's obviously taking a Punisher-inspired route. I guess Marvel's right. All comics DO need to include Wolverine!
