Transcript:
Volume 6 kicks off with an issue dedicated to Planet Hulk. In the first story, Hulk saves his wife Queen Caiera before the warp core explodes, this time killing him. Miek is also killed in the aftershocks, and a furious Caiera absorbs the remaining life from the planet before traveling to Earth. They shatter the moon, before using Blackbolt to disintegrate Strange and the Sentry. And before anyone can react, they also kill Iron Man and most of the Fantastic Four, X-Men, and Avengers. Caiera is talked out of destroying the planet, instead enslaving it to create an enormous Hulk statue, which, years later, is complete, and she turns to stone in its palm never to move again. Next, the ship actually lands at its intended destination, where nothing threatens Hulk and he slowly calms down and gets used to his surroundings. He reverts back to Bruce, nearly getting eaten by the nightlife, and uses his ingenuity to construct a shelter, but when trying to hunt the wildlife as food, he angers Hulk, who tears down his work. He literally beats himself up, before the split personalities come to an agreement. Much later, Bruce has built a proper homestead and even a radio, while Hulk has built a paradise where small lizard-like creatures are protected from giant predators. And millions of years later, that species has evolved into sapient beings who worship Hulk as a god. With Hulk still alive and protecting them. Finally, there's a joke story where Banner arrives on planet Sakaar and is immediately skewered by the inhabitants. And every year, a new hero shows up to find him, only to also be immediately impaled. Due to my love of survivor stories, I enjoyed the second one the most, but all three are entertaining in their own ways. And considering how stupid the heroes acted during this event, seeing them shish kabobed in the final story is cathartic.
