We checked out the Persona-inspired, action JRPG Eternights. Created by newly formed, indie developer Studio Sai and Jae Hyun Yoo, this game was in development for just under three years. During that time, the game built up some hype, with its trailers shown at the Game Awards 2022 and the State of Play in 2022 and 2023.

So does the Eternights formula of fighting than dating waifus fun? Is this Persona-love letter a blast to play?

I would say yes, but with some major caveats. I enjoyed the game overall, but can’t help notice the game had some notable flaws, which keeps Eternights from hitting its true potential.

Regardless, if Studio Sai learns from Eternights' flaws, the studio has potential to make some great games in the future.
