X-Men vs. Street Fighter [PS1] - flawed Apocalypse value
This is a demonstration of a "flawed" Apocalypse in the PS1 version of X-Men vs. Street Fighter. Read on below for more information...
As you can see in the video, this "character" is quite messed up. I do not know why it is in the game's data, it seems to be some sort of manifestation of all of Apocalypse's sprites, animations and voices. My best guess is that it may be acting as some sort of 'storage area' for his data OR it's using Apocalypse's sprites/data on a 'normal' character data template (which explains the movement, jumps, etc.).
You can move the character around with some weird results. He can also be hit by the opponent a few times, which eventually causes the game to freeze.
===== About Apocalypse =====
Famous Marvel cartoon villain who can change into a giant. Wonders around the world pretending to be a God because he can.
===== About PS1 X-Men vs. Street Fighter =====
Due to the RAM limitations of the PS1 hardware, huge cuts needed to be made in porting the arcade game to the console... and the main cut is the fact that you cannot switch characters during a fight. Therefore it operates more like a traditional one-on-one fighter, consisting of separate rounds. Tag elements such as the Counter and the Team Super Combo are still possible though.
Other drawbacks include many animation sprite frame cuts, making some moves look a bit choppy and jerky. If you're used to the Arcade or Saturn versions and have a keen eye for sprites (like myself), you'll definitely notice the cuts.
New features of this version includes the ability to cancel Special Moves into Super Combos, and Super Combos into another Super Combo.
