XC Falcon Panel Van Get Rego - Phil's New Toy Episode 3
41This episode we are replacing the Fuel Sender in the XC Falcon Panel Van and we talk about getting the van registered and the future dreams for the Panel Van.
Firstly we replaced the XC Falcon Panel Van's fuel sender which we had to get custom made through Superoo Falcon Parts in Armadale. Rare Spares do the Sedan, however, they don do the Utes or Panel Vans, so you have to get them made up. Thank goodness the Superoo Falcon Parts has this covered and for a reasonable cost. Tony, Leigh, Clinton and the rest of the team at Superoo have everything for your Ford and if they don't, they point you in the right direction.
Secondly, we got the XC Falcon Panel Van inspected and approved. We did get a work order of about five to six items that needed addressing. Things like the Tyres, so we got new Nankangs from Central Tyres Bibra Lake and pick up some second 12 Slot Chrome 14 x 8 rims. So now we are running 235 / 60/14 fronts and 265/50/14 rears. We also had to fit an exhaust leak, small coolant leak and a small Auto Transmission leak from the sump. We were required to get a Vehicle Modification Permit for the Extractors on the Van and we had to take it over a weigh bridge to see how much it weighed. We had to put mud flaps on, grrr.
I use the same plates that I had on the HX Holden Sandman called XU1 Sandman that we sold in June 2022. So its easy to remember and it stays period looking for the XC Falcon Van with 70's plates.
Now we just have to get the XC Van up to presentation, which we are going to turn the XC Falcon Panel Van into a Aussie Garage Promo Vehicle for events throughout WA. We will have the back of the van deck out with a Esky, our camera gear, Aussie Garage Banners and more. We will be looking at partnering with Businesses to help us get this van ready and all these sponsors will be promoted on the XC Falcon Panel Van with Aussie Garage.
At the moment the Van is painted a Factory Meadow Green Colour but we are not sure if we are going to stay with this colour or go a brilliant yellow to stand out. However, this is a way off yet.
