Trial and Error to Perfection - Rewind Project Episode 6
25This Episode Nic and Neil for Voodoo Trikes & Customs will be designing the Cross Member for the LS Engine Gearbox for the Holden Panel Van. They have to take into account the LS Engine is level and the Gearbox height within the Panel Van is correct to ensure all things work perfectly.
The design of the Cross Member is all trial & error using the Panel Van's original cross member and incorporating the VF Commodores gearbox mounts. They also have to consider transferring all the VF Commodores ergonomics such as the Fire Wall, Floor Pan and Pedal Box that will all be in the Panel Van so all fitment of the interior is already to go.
They had three attempts at getting this right, but on the fourth, its perfection. Engineering on vehicle such as this that have so much custom designs is all about the Trial & Error, until everything is perfect. However, as you will see, there are a lot frustrating times but with the right team it works out.
