Phil's New Toy -XC Ford Falcon Panel Van
67We are heading to Midvale to P&S Logistics to pick up the new toy which is a 1978 XC Ford Falcon 500 Panel Van. This was a special order with the optional sundowner tail gate and paint code that are still waiting to find out. It definitely not the Banana Blush that was thinking.
The car brought from Charlestown NSW site unseen, except for pictures, facetime and a couple of reports. So this will be a surprise or a bad dream, let see how we went.
We are going to slowly rebuild the XC Falcon Panel Van in what I want over time but for now the priority is to find out what we got, get it over the pits and then plan for the rest.
So it looks better than I expected with some lumps and lumps but overall very straight body. The engine sounds great at the moment but sounds that we need to check out. But it definitely needs fuel so we better get going. Okay we filled her up and fuel gauge has not moved, so its the sender or the gauge itself.
So far we need a water pump, brake booster, few globes and to degrease the engine, however, we will get all areas inspected to see how its going to go before we take it over the pits for licensing.
We found out later the XC Panel Van had a short in the system and spent three days with the Auto Electrician to fix the issues. The back pocket was not happy.
