XU1 Sandman is Ready to Leave
Hey everyone, thanks for watching our Aussie Garage Channel and someone of you know we own vehicles ourselves as well. I have just recently sold my awesome 1976 HX Holden Sandman called "XU1 Sandman" to a purchaser in the Melbourne, so it getting ready for a new home and well be leaving shortly. So the XU1 Sandman is Ready to Leave.
The Sandman is Genuine Number Matching 6 cylinder 202 that has been fully blueprinted, forged internals, seriously lumpy cam and has Genuine triple Stromberg Carbies. It has a back up of the M20 4 speed gearbox as well. The colour is Chamois with Purple, Plum and Dark Blue decals that make it pop.
I have owned the Holden Sandman since 2019, which had a full nut and bolt restoration and I have loved owning this Classic Muscle Car. Furthermore, it one vehicle that stands out in the crowd because its different in colour and its drive train. It has done well over the years by winning Top Van at Motorvation 35 & 36 in Perth and been in the top ten cars on several occasions. Its just a great cruising vehicle.
But everything has a season and it time to let it go. It was getting to hard to drive a stick shift any longer due to bad leg, so rather than changing this beautiful car to auto, I would rather see it go.
Yes its going to be a sad day when it leaves and yes I know in five years I am going to regret it. But I would rather see it used than stay in garage not moving.
So thank you to people that have helped with this vehicle along the way, specially Gino from Landro Automotive for servicing the Sandman from after the rebuild to me selling it. The hard part was the triple carbies, but he has the knowledge of these Classic Muscle Cars and always made it look easy.
So stay tune and we will see what happens next?
