Ngl, Genshin doesn’t have the same vibe when I first started playing anymore. Though it’s not necessarily a bad thing-- since I do believe I have a totally different kind of attraction to the new update --- I couldn’t help noticing that I cared a lot more about the Moonlight Merriment event in ver. 2.1 than anything else. Some people are hyped for the Raiden Shogun/Ei and Inazuma and the new fishing system and all that, but I think there’s also something unfamiliar about the excitement. Liyue's event left a much more memorable impression on me, and I could only assume that it’s due to pure nostalgia. I was happy to meet Xiangling again. Happy to see Xinyan getting more recognition, to see Xiao, Beidou, Ningguang, Zhongli,... and of course, the star of the event, Gouba. Something about liyue's quest seems much more...impactful? Warm? Idk how to describe it lol. Perhaps I’m too attached to these characters compared to everything that’s going on in Inazuma.
That being said, While Inazuma may feel unsafe and unfamiliar at times compared to the carefree Mondstadt and tranquil Liyue--having a few comfort characters, like Kazuha, Ayaka, Thoma, and Yae, does make me feel a bit more at home. I wasn’t super satisfied with the resolution of the latest archon quest (The build-up of the first part is amazing, though)-- but there’s no denying that Yae stole the show for me. I love everything about this character, her voice, her design, her sassiness, the seemingly cunning and foxy personality that makes her seem so unpredictable, even her relationship with Ei, too. They’re all so good! I wouldn’t even complain if they give her more screen time. I couldn’t get enough of this woman lmao. Super happy that Mihoyo decided to make another playful and teasing adult female character (like Lisa). Don’t get me wrong, I love seeing strong, serious, and determined female figures, but having characters like Yae just seems more refreshing and interesting :DD

Oh and also. For those who are curious why I sound so depressed in my last edit… I was feeling stressed from schools and universities. Senior year is tough yall. I’m doing a lot better now. I spaced out my time to work and rest so my schedule currently looks less hectic. I guess I just need better time management lol.
