2In order to get the Hold My Beer achievement, you need to survive 10 minutes without purchasing a single weapon upgrade during your run. This can be a bit tough, but with proper set up, and trying to NOT level up too much, it isn't too bad of an achievement. Definitely a LOT easier than the No Skill achievement, since each character has 2 skills and 1 weapon. To start, you want to make sure to have some upgrades in the skill tree. Any kind of weapon reloading speed, weapon damage, movement speed, etc. will really help, as you cannot upgrade a single weapon for 10 minutes. Also, rerolls, skips and banishes will be very helpful, but not necessary if done right (but might as well be on the safe side, one mistake and you have to try again). Get some runs in and level up some skills before attempting this. Also, try to put some points into Power Metal, which raises your special ability damages. Once ready, select a character and head into a level.
The tactic I used here was the same as my No Skill achievement run. Stick to the outside of the playable area and keep running around it. This will limit the xp you grab since it forces most enemies to spawn towards the middle of the map, keeping a ton of xp away from you. Each time you level up, you have a chance of failing since you may get stuck having to choose a weapon upgrade. Try to balance what you get and how tough the enemies are as time ticks by.
As SOON as you get SOS calls, go rescue the person. You want to get your squad to 3 characters ASAP. This will give you more chances to draw ability upgrades when you level up. If you get stuck with only 3 weapon upgrades, skip, banish or reroll. If you can't, you'll have to try again. Once 10 minutes has passed, and you have not purchased a single weapon upgrade, the Hold My Beer achievement will pop for you! Congrats!
